My wife, Johnese, and I have been married for 54 years. We have five children, all married, and as you can see, they also are very fruitful! God said to Adam and Eve, “be fruitful, and fill the earth.” We have done our part to fulfill God’s command. We have sixteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and two foster grandchildren (only one is included in the picture). When we are all together, as we were at Thanksgiving 2023, we take a family picture. Although it is not clear in this picture, we pose everyone in the same place as before. It’s loads of fun.
I began my personal journey in photography in the 8th grade, and bought my first 35 mm SLR two years later. I use Nikon equipment, currently shoot with a 750, and have collected several lenses. The family picture was taken with an AF-S Nikkor 24-70 1:2.8 which is my go to portrait lens.
I have over 50,000 pictures in my digital library. Many are from various trips around the globe, but most are of my family and birds. I love to shoot birds. I use an AF-S Nikkor 200-500 1:5.6E which is bulky, heavy and sometimes difficult to handle, especially as I get older, but it does an adequate job in the backyard or when I am out and about. (Of course, I use a monopod on occasions.)
I am a retired pastor/elder ordained with the Assemblies of God (AG). The last 30 years of my active ministry were serving the Potomac District AG in various departmental and executive positions. I am a lover of Jesus and His Church, and I believe in the authority of the Bible as God’s message to mankind.
I am creating this website to share some of my pictures of God’s creation and some of my thoughts about His love and the plans He has for mankind, including you! I hope you enjoy the site.
